Why is my FormBox making a strange sound?
There are a few reasons you might be hearing unexpected noises:
- Active fans. You might be hearing the two fans in the top of the FormBox, or the fan in the bottom of the machine. These switch on as soon as you connect your FormBox to power, to keep everything nice and cool.
- Warning alarms. There are also two warning alarms that sound when your FormBox has been left unattended. The first one will sound after 10 minutes to remind you that your FormBox is still switched on. The second one will sound after 15 minutes, and will completely shut down the machine as a safety precaution. You can reactivate the machine simply by turning the temperature dial to "OFF", and then back to any temperature.
- Alarms. The alarm will also sound constantly if there is an issue with your machine. You will not be able to use your machine when this alarm is signalling. But don’t worry - you can diagnose the issue by looking at the lights on the front of your machine.
If the problem is due to one of these issues, please contact [email protected] .
Check if one or both upper FormBox fans are working
You will hear a beeping sound if one or both fans are not working.
To check that both your upper fans are working, switch the machine on, turn the heater dial to any temperature, and place your hand over the vents in the top. If you feel air coming out, fans are working. If no air is coming out, there is an issue.
Faulty upper FormBox fans
Please refer to our article "How do I check my cooling fans for fault?" .
Check if the lower FormBox Fan is connected:
- Undo the two small hex screws on either side of the hole under the mesh
- Turn the machine over on its side and remove the rubber feet from the base
